Have you ever looked at your life and wondered, “If God supplies all my needs according to His riches, why do I still feel like I’m lacking?”
I’ve been there. Many times.
There have been moments when I looked at my bank account and thought, It’s not enough.
Moments when I felt unqualified to run my business, inadequate as a wife or mother, or simply not “enough” in any area of my life. I found myself focusing on my limitations instead of the limitless God who makes all things possible.
Psalm 103:5 (TPT) says,
“You satisfy my every desire with good things. You have supercharged my life so I can soar.”
That’s the reality I want to align my heart with — not the lie of lack, but the truth of God’s abundance.
The Truth That Untangles You from Lack: God is not limited by your ability.
I recently watched a message from Pastor David Ring, a man born with cerebral palsy. He shared how he once tried to bargain with God — begging not to be called to preach because of his disability. But David’s story is proof that our limitations don’t limit God.
He said something that stopped me in my tracks:
“Little is much when God is in it.”
That truth runs all through Scripture.
Remember the widow in 2 Kings 4 who had only a small jar of oil? When she obeyed Elisha’s instruction to gather empty jars and pour out what little she had, God multiplied it until every jar overflowed — enough to pay her debts and secure her sons’ future.
Or the little boy who offered his five loaves and two fish (Matthew 15:32–39). It seemed insignificant, yet in Jesus’ hands, it fed over 5,000 people.
Or the disciples who cast their nets at Jesus’ word and caught so many fish that their boat could hardly stay afloat.
In every one of these moments, God took something small and made it supernatural.
How to Get Untangled from Lack
If you’re feeling limited, held back, or like you don’t have “enough,” here’s how to shift your perspective:
1. Take your eyes off your ability.
Stop focusing on what you can or can’t do — and surrender your “little” to God.
2. Invite Jesus into your "little".
Ask Him to step into your situation and listen for His instructions.
3. Act on what He says.
Obedience opens the door for His provision and abundance.
Whatever area of your life feels like “not enough” today — your finances, relationships, confidence, creativity — surrender it to Jesus.
Listen. Trust. Obey.
And then watch Him do immeasurably more than you could ask or imagine.
He’s not limited by your ability. He’s moved by your surrender.
Praying that you’ll see His abundance where there once was lack.
